Blockbond (LD)

Blockbond (LD)

AAC/CLC blocks are light weight, evenly finished and provide insulation. They have lower compressive strength and absorb much less water in comparison to bricks/CC blocks and are a boon for quick construction.

However, the use of conventional sand cement mortar which is heavier, nullifies the advantages of AAC/CLC blocks. Because of mismatched properties with respect to AAC blocks and because it forms thicker joints, there is always a high probability of crack formation in walls made with AAC blocks and sand cement mortar.

To reap the full benefits of AAC/CLC blocks, they need be used in combination with Perlcon Blockbond, light weight mortar. Uniquely formulated to match the strength and be compatible with AAC blocks, Blockbond forms a thin and even masonry layer and joint. It also reduces possibility of crack formation.

Additionally, Blockbond provides better heat insulation as its unique composition does not allow creation of a thermal bridge. Perlcon Blockbond is 2.25 times lighter in weight than conventional mortars and therefore offers higher coverage.
